Fremont- Beer and Church

In between two gigs in Fremont, I had some time to kill. So while eating lunch at California Craft Beer pouring room (with a sandwich from the Cheese Deli next door,) I opted to get a few stock photos in.

After a nice beer sampler, I got some exterior photos of the Mission San Jose across the street. After dropping $5 I got in and made some interior photos of the alter, chandeliers, and the cemetery in back.

The suburbs can be more interesting than we give them credit for.

Video of the New Google Self Driving Car

I’m still working on my video skills, sorry they’re crap right now. But here’s a short snippet I caught of the new Google two seater self driving car in a Silicon Valley parking lot. Fortunately I did get some decent stills (see here.)

Stock Video Testing

Testing…..one, two, three, testing…….

I’ve been trying to grab a little stock video while I’m out doing the regular SiliconValleyStock schtick. Here are a few recent samples captured at the Googleplex in Mountain View AKA Silicon Valley. I just figured out how to display here on my site without going to Youtube or any of that sort of thing, so I might drop a bunch more on this site soon.

Another Glance at Google’s New Self Driving Car

Once again I stumbled upon Google’s new self driving car. This time it was in yet another public parking lot, dodging between the controversial Google Busses that park there. And once again I could see the Googler’s working on the project were not happy about my presence. The “driver” made an effort to stay in areas that I had a hard time pointing towards. None the less this parking lot had some great vantage points, including some that showed the interior quite well too.

Cupertino: The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From the Tree

The world knows the city of Cupertino for one thing only. Being the headquarters of Apple Computer. Jobs and Wozniak may have gotten their start in a modest garage in nearby Los Altos. Apple’s infamous HQ is at One Infinite Loop, and their campus buildings dot the periphery.

The funniest thing I found was walking down the street … in front of another Apple building there were a bunch of apple trees. They were bearing fruit, that was just rotting on the ground below the Apple Computer signs.

Where Android Statues Go to DIE

One of the most amusing things I’ve seen at Google was this “Android Graveyard”. Actually the sculptures are under renovation, I’m assuming they’ve been reassembled. But when I stumbled upon them, they were in pieces- jelly beans strewn on the lawn, Android robots sans arms and heads.

The suburbs can be more interesting than we give them credit. One of my favorite photo locations in San Jose is near where I spent much of my youth in the eastern suburbs of San Jose.

Surrounded by beige stucco houses and strip malls full of familiar chain stores is the Pao Hua buddhist temple.  Typically there are a monks around in orange robes sweeping. And unlike much of Silicon Valley, this is a photo friendly spot, they encourage photography!

A few views of California’s Central Coast

Above is a slightly different view of the iconic Bixby Bridge on California’s Central Coast. I went down shooting stock photos and ended up stopped on a dirt road behind the bridge marveling at how much the weather changed in the short couple hours I waited for the light to change.

The young woman above, Howland, posed for some stock photos. I think she has a really nice look. I’m still in the process of adding model released people to my stock photo library and hope to find more like her.
